Most hit songs in general are played at events but we all have our favorites and it so happen that the president of the republic of Ghana loves one of Shatta Wales hits songs which happens to be Mahama paper, so obviously he would love to hear it being played at all his events.
Same way any one who loves the song can choose to play it at their events. Besides no one can clearly say that it is the only song being play the events because we all know all the other hit songs in town are equally being played so why drag it into politics.
Most hit songs in general are played at events but we all have our favorites and it so happen that the president of the republic of Ghana loves one of Shatta Wales hits songs which happens to be Mahama paper, so obviously he would love to hear it being played at all his events.
Same way any one who loves the song can choose to play it at their events. Besides no one can clearly say that it is the only song being play the events because we all know all the other hit songs in town are equally being played so why drag it into politics.

The title alone is attractive as to the personality involved but also know that, paper here means money or currency hence being the sitting president he is the face of our currency. There were other papers like Franklin paper mentioned in the song but Mahama paper was more suitable since the artist involved is a Proud son of Ghana and is on a strategic mission to propagate his home land Ghana in every little way he can so let's all applaud his efforts with a more objective eye rather than linking it to politics, besides is a love song in which the artist involved attempts to portray his love for a woman being first to money which is termed as Mahama paper or Franklin paper to mean local and foreign currency respectively.
This is the manifestation of pure talent at its best so why can't we just say the song is being played because of the message it carries thus the president loves his wife first to money and give credit to the artist for doing a great job.

I believe management of the artist involved have not entered any contractual agreement with the ruling political party so what is the underlying factor for the link as to whether or not it's the campaign song for NDC.
If I were opposition, I will equally play it at my events since its a major hit and most people per understanding of the message would love to hear it at events along side other songs that they are in love with but there again the title might discouraged them whiles as a matter of fact I know for a fact that the artist involved would have used any other name had that person being in power at time of release. This are the little benefits of being president and becoming one makes you the face of the country. Shatta wale is a household name with the greatest youth following Ghana has ever seen. He has followers from all sorts of divides be it Islamic, Christian ,NDC,PPP, NPP,CPP and so on and would not jeopardise his stand to even sit in for a negotiations that would portray his bias for a particular divide.
It's kind of funny, because he is just too smart for that with no disrespect to any artist because he knows what is at stake. It's like this ,it's either he goes in for money and stand to lose some Faction of his fan base by exposing his bias for a particular side or he keeps his neutral stand and make more money through his lack of bias for any side since his fan base cuts across all divides leading to high patronage any time he puts up or is called for an event ,his fan base is his greatest value .In all, Shatta Wale doesn't need any party's money to feel powerful because he already has the power through his fan base, in fact he has what the political parties needs and thus the numbers from all divides. He has the power and has no reason to jeopardise that through cheap politics. It's just too risky for him.

It's simple, show that you love the brand Shatta Wale.
Ndc is doing something like that but as to whether it is a strategy I doubt it, because for it to work as a strategy they would have to really prove their love for the artist and not just playing particular songs just because their flag bearer likes it ,it can't work that way. Work needs to be done to ensure the youth are convinced that, they endorse the artist and adore him for his good works not just one particular work. Shatta wale has a lot of songs and it's for the consumption of every Ghanaian be it NDC or NPP hence the party that is able to appeal to his fans as loving him more stands a Chance and that is the only way out, but trying to bring him on Board for political gains must be forgotten . The Shatta wale I know would not sell what he has not even to the highest bidder but the party that would be able to play the card of it's love for Shatta wale due to his good works and role being played in the lives of the youth stands a better chance of winning his fans over. Shatta wale is a patriot not a politician, he is a national entertainer not a political one, so just show you love him for his patriotism and you stand a chance of winning his fans over.
